  1. “My little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you!” (Galatians 4:19 ESV)

When I was in first grade, I arrived early to school on Valentine’s Day. I was so excited. Mom had purchased a red box with 30 or so Valentine cards for me to give to my classmates. I walked around the room before my fellow students arrived and placed cards thoughtfully on each desk. Suddenly, one of those brainiac students arrived and informed me that I had misspelled “From”. I remember the sense of panic that struck me in the stomach as I hurriedly crossed out “Form Douglas” and wrote “From Douglas”, it truly was a formative moment.

God desires to form us by using life’s disappointments, embarrassments, failures, and events. Our response to these things, not the things themselves, shape us. God has chosen for me a life that includes writing and teaching. Which is pretty funny because I still can’t spell. How about you? What is forming you?

    With much love,

    Form Douglas
